System Founders

Jeremy Morris:

Jeremy began his career in the Marine Corp in 1998 working counter terrorism. While in the service he received specialty training in the Corp LINE fighting system. He was also a Marine Corp martial arts instructor specializing in Muay Thai and Brazilian Ju Jitsu. During his military service Jeremy also worked and trained with local Seal teams in urban warfare techniques and close quarters combat .Following his stint in the Corp. He went to work as a jail officer and ERT member. From 2002-2005 he worked in the Chesapeake Sherriff’s office, serving as security during the DC sniper case. From 2005 to 2007 Jeremy worked for Blackwater Security out of Moyock North Carolina. As a Blackwater employee, Jeremy served as an instructor to military personnel, private contractors, and law enforcement in the areas of force protection, defensive tactics, firearms, and CQB.  He also taught non lethal weapons instruction. His final six months with Blackwater were spent attached to the Naval Center as an anti-terrorism instructor and curriculum developer. In 2007 Jeremy joined the James City County police force where he is currently employed and where he helped develop and co-found the AMMO system.

 

Patrick Crowe:

 

Patrick began his martial arts training in Judo in 1982, and has continued studying various martial arts styles. Patrick currently has over fifteen years of training experience in Judo, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Eskrima, Shitoryu and Goshin Budo. He has affiliations or training experience with several schools around the country including Kim’s Tae Kwon Do in Norfolk Virginia , Galvin’s Martial Arts Center in Brownsville Texas, Karate for Christ Studios in Norfolk Virginia, NIMA Karate in Virginia Beach Virginia, and Norfolk School of Judo and Ju- Jitsu. Patrick currently holds a Black Belt in Shitoryu Karate and Goshin Budo. Patrick is a World Association of Kickboxing Organizations certified referee, who last officiated at the 2005 Joe Lewis Classic where he refereed over 100 matches in kickboxing and over 40 in Muay Thai. Patrick has worked as a martial arts instructor since 2003 and volunteers his spare time teaching at risk youth with the Karate for Christ organization. Patrick was co-owner and instructor of NIMA Karate one of the oldest martial arts schools in Virginia. 

 

Professionally:

Patrick began his career in 1986 as a US Navy damage control man/firefighter. He served aboard the USS Kennedy as a Fire Marshall, at the time of his appointment he was the youngest rated Fire Marshall in US Navy history. Following his service on the USS Kennedy, Patrick served aboard the USS Shenandoah as Fire Marshall and as a diver with the ship’s dive teams from 90-92. Following honorable discharge in 1998, Patrick began working in private and electronic security, owning and operating his own security company, C&P Electronic Security. During this time he also continued on in private security as a consultant and training officer. He worked as a technical advisor and security officer for the Mid-coarse Missile Defense Agency, and as an electronic security tech and video surveillance expert. Patrick is currently an officer with the Suffolk Virginia Police department, where he partnered with Jeremy in co-founding the AMMO system for law enforcement officers.

 

Education:

Patrick is currently finishing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a specialty in law enforcement. He is a certified chemical, biological, and nuclear warfare specialist, and is certified and trained in less than lethal and lethal weapons, including 9mm, AR15, 12 gauge shotgun, 50 cal., OC spray, Taser, and ASP baton. Also was trained in CQB as a boarding team member for the US Coast guard when working on drug intervention projects on board the Uss Clark.

Grand Master E. R. Spruiell

Sensei E. R. Spruiell, born May 5, 1945, is currently active in providing a service to Judo. In 1995, he established the Norfolk School of Judo & Jujitsu, Norfolk Virginia.  His Dojo reflects the philosophy and training of Kodokan Judo and the Sasori Neko Ryu goshin-Jitsu Silat Association.

 Sensei Spruiell has been involved in competing, coaching and officiating in Judo and the Martial Arts.  He began in 1966 for the All-Marine Corps Regional championships.  He was also; Marine Corps champion in 1967 & 1968.

 Sensei Spruiell credits his accomplishments to the leadership and instruction he received from the following instructors:

Mr. John Evans, Yodan; Mr. Ben Sotsug (Gihokan judo Club); Sensei Pop Moore and son, Sensei Roy Moore, Jr. (NTC, San Diego, CA); Mr. Ernie Gates (MI-Marine Corps Champion); Mr. John Rosesberry (all-Marine Corps champion); Mr. Ernie R. Anderson Mr. Robie Reed, and Mr. Sid Kelly (7th Dan Judo & 6th Dan Jujitsu-Judo workshop videos, Inc.

Lewis-Shihan is a Christian and family man. He lives in Norfolk, Va. with his wife and two children. He's a member of Tabernacle church of Norfolk. Norfolk, Va.  He's been training in the Japanese Arts of Ging ryu ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu, Goshin-Budo, Iaido, Motobu-ha Shito-Ryu, and Kuniba-ha Shito-Ryu since August of 1980. 

On 31 Oct 2002, with the Lord's leading, he founded the Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai and brought to it his 24 years of Karate-do training, and along with him came his system of Christian Karate-do which he named, Kirisuto Kyoto-ha  ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu.


On 5 May 2003, Lewis-Shihan and the Seishoku-Kai was accepted into the membership of the Alabama based worlds largest Christian Martial Arts Ministry Organization, Karate for Christ International, on 20 April 2003, the Kai became a part of its home church ministry program. 

In December of 2003, Lewis-Shihan completed his Theology course of study, Teaching the Bible to Others from Master's Divinity School and received the Certificate of Continuing Studies Award. Added to this blessings, the Lord has blessed the Seishoku-Kai, by growing the Honbu-Dojo membership to over 75 active enrolled students, 5 associate member schools in the U.S.A., and one International associate member school in South America (Venezuela). He too, is currently the Shihan-Dai (Assistant Master Instructor) for the Ging Ryu ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu Karate-do Union, under Frederick I. Thomason-Kyoshi.

On 18 Sep 04, he was given an Honorary promotion to Nana-Dan (7th Degree), and appointed to the position of Fuku-Kaicho (Vice-President), Karate for Christ-Intl. He was also recognized as the Head of Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai, and the KirisutoKyoto-ha ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu Style of Karate-Do, by the President of Karate for Christ Int'l, thereby, appointing him Director of the Ranking Board of Karate for Christ Int'l. He too, was appointed Head of the Japanese Martial Arts Division and Advisor for Karate for Christ-Int'l. [

On 18 May 2005, he was the special guest speaker of the Baccalaureate service for East Bladen High School (North Carolina) graduating class.

On 20 Aug 05, he was promoted to Kaicho (President), KFCI, U.S. Operations HQ.

On 1 October 2005, he was Honored by being inducted into the Karate for Christ International, Hall of Fame. Thereby, becoming the 9th person, inducted into the KFCI Black Belt Hall of Fame.


His Background:

of 15 years with the U.S. Department of Defense,

As a Law Enforcement Academy Instructor, Lewis-Shihan
taught such subjects as, The History of Law Enforcement,
Law Enforcement Ethics, The Use of Force, Officer Safety,
The Law of Search and Seizure, and Street Survival. 

Specifically, Lewis-Shihan's Karate-do training helped at placing him at the pentacle in the area of self-defense instructing. He was the academy's Lead Defensive Tactics, Tactical Handcuffing, and Special Operations Hand-to-Hand Combat Instructor. He was responsible for the development and implementing of specialized Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics and Military Special Ops Hand-to-Hand Combat Training Programs. He too, was a member of Commander Naval Regional,
Mid-Atlantic Force Protection Exercise Unit (Homeland Security).

He has helped protect former Presidents, "George H. Bush" and "Bill Clinton." He was selected twice to serve on President Clinton's protection team.
